Tottenham to play European matches at Wembley

Tottenham Hotspur have reached agreement with the FA to host Champions League games at Wembley next season with an option to use the national stadia for all matches in the 2017-18 movement while they are building a untried ground.

  “Having Tottenham at Wembley for big European nights next season is a welcome opportunity for us to further the stadia’s position as a world-class hit, ” FA chief executive Martin Glenn said. Tottenham are redeveloping White Hart Lane by building a 400 million pounds ($584.92 million) 61,000-seater stadium next to their existing field and will have a reduced capacity next term as a result.

  They will use Wembley to meet UEFA requirements. “Given the current reduction in capacity at White Hart Lane for next season and the ticketing requirements for (the) Champions League, playing at Wembley will mean that we can continue to accommodate all of our existent season ticket holders, ” Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy said in a narrative yesterday.  “Our season ticket waiting list is over 50,000 so this now also offers us a great opportunity to furnish more of our supporters with a chance to see the team play live during our Champions League campaign.

Port Harcourt – Dr Tammy Danagogo, a former Minister of Sports, has called on the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to engage talents like Joseph Yobo, Nwankwo Kanu and Austin Okocha in youth football. 

 Danagogo in Port Harcourt on Saturday said that the former internationals would serve as inspiration to the youth who want to pick up a career in footy.  

According to him, possession served the country very well, the federation should not allow the talents to waste. “My moment is that players like Kanu Nwankwo, Joseph Yobo and Austin Okocha, this country must not suffer them to waste. “Most of them are in their early forties.

  Danagogo said the former internationals still had a destiny to offer the country and should be well engaged, especially to drag future stars.
